Governors

The governors are a group of committed individuals who work in partnership with the Headteacher, Mr Walsh, to ensure that the school runs smoothly and effectively and is constantly striving to improve the quality of service it provides. Our Chair of Governors is Barrie Cooke MBE.

Thirteen people make up the governing body, representing different parts of the community. There are:

  • Three Local Authority representatives (Mike Gregory, Tony Banbury and vacancy)
  • Three community representatives (Barrie Cooke, Sue Speak and vacancy)
  • Two staff representatives (Sarah Skinsley and Carol Plant)
  • Five parent representatives (Debbie Pritchard, Tim Randell, Sarah Wilson, Laura Biggs and Matthew Brewster)

The Full Governing Body meets four times per year, with two governors’ committees meeting nine times, the membership of which are as follows:

Mr Walsh reports to SAAB as well as the Full Governing Body. The Deputy Head, Mrs Makelis, reports to CLASS. The Clerk to the governors is Shonagh Black.
