Personal, Social, Health and Moral Education will help all children at Pomphlett to gain a measure of knowledge, skills and understanding on which to build confident, healthy and independent lives. Through a range of activities, circle times and their own experiences, the children are encouraged to explore their own worth within the school and the wider community. In doing so, the aim for each individual is to become increasingly responsible for their actions and learning.
Through active participation and personal reflection, the children will learn to respect each other and understand our diversities and differences.
The following areas are included within the PSHE curriculum: Food and Nutrition, Personal Safety, Healthy Living, Relationships and Managing Feelings, Environmental Aspects around the World, and Substance Use and Misuse and Sex Education for Years 5 and 6 only. To support the curriculum each year the Life Education Centre visits school. This mobile classroom takes the children through a carefully structured programme of lessons designed to help them understand how best to look after their bodies.
