Additional information for candidates

  • This is an exciting time for Pomphlett Primary School. The successful candidate will join a successful school that has been undergoing an expansion programme in recent years, increasing in size from one form entry to two forms of entry. A large building programme, including a new teaching block and the refurbishment of the existing building is near to completion, creating a modern and well-equipped learning environment with excellent facilities
  • The successful candidate will teach a relatively small class of Year 3 children in one of the newly built classrooms
  • The post is initially temporary, but has the prospect of becoming permanent, dependent upon the school’s circumstances relating to finance and pupil numbers for the academic year 2020/21
  • Applications from NQTs will be welcomed, as are those from more experienced teachers
  • If appointed, an NQT can expect to be fully supported to become established in the profession
  • The school is a founding member of the Horizon Multi-Academy Trust and has close and supportive links with its sister schools in in the Trust, providing staff with opportunities to work closely with colleagues from schools of differing circumstances and character
  • We would be happy to give potential candidates a tour of the school prior to the application deadline, though tours will be held at specific times, yet to be arranged. Attendance on a tour does not influence the appointment of the successful candidate as the tour is simply an opportunity for candidates to visit us to help decide whether the position is suitable for them. Please contact our senior administrator, Debbie Reid to arrange
  • Candidates invited to interview will be contacted on Friday 28 June and confirmation letters, including the agenda and requirements for the interview day, sent by email that day. It would be helpful if candidates informed their referees of the schedule of dates because we will need to contact them so that they can supply a reference in time. References will need to be sent to school to arrive before the interviewing day
  • If applicants do not receive an invitation to interview by the end of Friday 28 June, they should assume their application has been unsuccessful. We will not be issuing rejection notifications
  • Interviewees will be informed of the decision of the appointing panel by telephone as soon as possible after the decision is made at the end of the interviewing day.
  • Interviews will take place in school and will comprise a teaching activity, professional activities and a panel interview
  • The successful candidate will commence their post on Monday 2 September 2019
  • More information about the school, its ethos, vision, values and policies etc, are freely available on the school’s website and Facebook page
