Children in Need 15.11.19
BBC Children in Need exists to change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. The vision is that every child in the UK has a safe, happy and secure childhood and the chance to reach their potential.
We supported Children in Need this year by holding a whole school mufti day, having a Pudsey biscuit sale, a raffle to win a giant Pudsey bear and a pupil in Year 3 kindly made Children in Need hair bows to sell at school, donating all the proceeds to charity.
Parliament Day 25.11.19
Tomas Williams from the Parliamentary Outreach visited and delivered an introduction to Parliament assembly to all pupils in Key Stage 2. Following the assembly he held a debating workshop with Year 6 pupils and a manifesto writing workshop in Year 5.
Key Stage 1 pupil focused on Nancy Astor, the first woman to take her seat in the House of Commons by celebrating the unveiling of her statue on Plymouth Hoe.
