Foundation Stage have been reading The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson.
The children started the topic by going on a treasure hunt, finding clues about the book.
The children learnt the story by following a story map and creating actions. Then as a class, they thought of new adjectives to describe The Gruffalo and changed the animals he met in the deep dark wood.
The children used their knowledge of phonics to write the sounds they could hear, in the names of the different animals in the story.
The children then wrote adjectives to describe The Gruffalo.
