Week 1 23/3/20
Friday 27th March
Good morning Year 6
No doubt you are getting ready for PE with Joe, which starts in 10 minutes. I have put the answers for ICDM on the website. Go to Curriculum then Mathematics and you'll find them in there. Good luck - let me know how you get on!
See if you can complete this week's learning today so you can enjoy your Easter holidays (albeit rather different this year). I'll pop some ideas for fun activities and home learning for the next couple of weeks on our class page on Monday.
Remember to watch Newsround daily to hear about uplifting and fascinating stories from around the world. They reported on the rescued koalas from the Australian bush fires this morning, which was wonderful to see.
From the 100 things to do if you get bored list, my children and I have completed numbers 11, 14, 31 and 35. We are planning to do number 58 today and hopefully number 98 while it's sunny. Have you done any of them yet? I've also put a Lego challenge on our class page which you could complete any way you fancy.
Have a lovely Friday, keep safe and enjoy the rejuvenating sunshine.
Thursday 26th March
Good afternoon Year 6
I hope the sunshine is cheering you up. The blue sky and bright sun is certainly making this difficult time easier. My children and I joined Joe Wicks at 9.00 am this morning from our garden for 'PE with Joe'. To think that Pomphlett's Year 6 were exercising at the same time was really fantastic. Were you taking part too?
I hope the various activities sent home have been helping to keep you busy. Thank you to those of you who have sent me your amazing spelling scores - you have certainly been working hard. Well done for the MyMaths which has also been completed so far. I have put next week's spellings on the star above for you to start looking at.
Did you know that David Walliams reads from his books every morning at 11 am? Click on the link to listen. Then click on Elevenses. https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/
That's it for today. I hope you all do well in your times tables test tomorrow. Keep emailing your spelling and times tables scores - I am writing them in my book to keep everything on track. Be sure to try your hardest, won't you? I thought I'd throw a question tag in for you all!
Take care. I'm missing you all.
Monday 23rd March
Good afternoon Year 6
On Friday afternoon, you all went home with this week's home learning activities. Those of you who were away or left early, please ask an adult to collect your pack from school. I have added a list (on the rainbow icon above) which just gives you 100 ideas of things to do if you need them.
I will put another copy of the home learning on this week's star just to remind you what to do. Feel free to email me via the home learning email, if you need any guidance with the work.
Shortly, I will be trying to record the next chapter of Holes for you to listen to. Watch this space!
Until 29th March, there are still FREE audio books on World Book Day website that you can use.
I'll be in touch soon,
