Bellever
Dartmoor trip
On November 7th, Year 3 went to Postbridge Visitor Centre, on Dartmoor, which was unfortunately closed due to a water main issue.
However, we had 3 great guides who took us on a slightly muddy walk around and in Bellever Forest. Along the way we saw standing stones which marked the burial of stone age peoples' bones, a burial chamber of someone in charge and stone circles denoting roundhouses. We stood in the same places and touched the same rocks as people who lived approximately 400 years ago. We thought like historians and made inferences about what archaeologists had found and are still finding.
We had lunch and played in the leaves, which is always a highlight after a day's walk.
Thank you to Marco's mum and Renee's mum for helping make up our adult numbers. It was very kind and hopefully it wasn't too stressful.
