  • PSSP Staddiscombe Cross Country

Fri 26 Oct 2018 Lili-Mai Glass, Evelyn Atfield-Biggs, George Carter, Alfie Reilly

On the 18th of October 2018, 25 Pomphlett pupils took part in the Staddiscombe cross country race, which is over 1 mile long. A big well done to everybody who took part in the race but especially the six children who came in the top 20, and also Charlie Wilton did especially well in the Yr 3 and 4 minor boys race and came 1st out of roughly 80 people, but not just by a little bit by at least 80 meters . Lots of our children were nervous to race because they didn't want to slip over because it was a bit wet. The support from Mrs Jarvis and Mr Spamer was brilliant they really made me run that bit faster. At the end of the day Mr Spamer and Mrs Jarvis were proud because every body tried their hardest.

Note from Mrs Jarvis - The team spirit from our pupils during this event was outstanding! The selflessness, consideration and support of others that they showed made us incredibly proud to have them wearing our Pomphlett vests. Well done to everyone involved and a huge thank you to all of the parents who provided transport, support and much needed biscuits!

  • City of Plymouth Gymnastics Day

    Fri 19 Oct 2018
On Friday 19th October, The City of Plymouth Gymnastics Club came to Pomphlett to work with all of Foundation and Year 1. They were looking at the core skills of balance, flexibility, strength and co-ordination. A super time was had by all and some gym stars of the future were discovered! Many thanks to City of Plymouth Gymnastics who provided the sessions free of charge.
  • Year 3/4 Multi Skills

    Tue 16 Oct 2018
This morning, eight of our Year 3/4 pupils ventured over to Coombe Dean School to take part in an inter school multi skills festival. The children took part in lots of different activities, improving their stamina, balance and coordination. They had a super morning being led by sports ambassadors from the secondary schools. Well done to all of the children for representing us so well, and thank you to Mrs Whitley and some of our super parents for transporting them!
  • Coombe Dean Cross County

    Mon 15 Oct 2018
On Thursday 11th October our intrepid cross country team ventured to Coombe Dean for the second race of the season. It had been a wet build up to the race with the route through the woods quite challenging. Our team did brilliantly, many improving on their previous weeks scores! Well done to everyone involved and special mention goes to Charlie for his super win in the Year 3/4 boys race. We are now looking forward to the big race at Staddiscombe later this week.
  • Eggbuckland Cross Country

    Wed 03 Oct 2018
Tonight our super cross country team took part in the first race of the season at Eggbuckland Community College over a mile long course. This was part of the Plymouth School Sports Partnership League with schools from across the city taking part. Our children were keen to get going and showed outstanding perseverance and determination over the long and hilly course. We are incredibly proud of the whole team, but special mention must go to Mia-Grace (3rd Y3/4 girls), Alfie (3rd Y5/6 Boys) and Charlie (1st Y3/4 boys) who scooped their first medals of the year, and also Evelyn (Y6) who was pipped at the post into 4th place! What a cracking sunny start to our 2018/19 cross country season!
