  • Marjons Primary Hockey

    Thu 09 Jun 2016
Today our year 6 team visited Marjons for the annual citywide Primary School Hockey Festival. The children performed brilliantly, winning 5 out of the 7 games that they played, with very few goals being scored against them due to some fantastic defending. The children also took part in a skills challenge and met the Lord Mayor. What a brilliant day!
  • Plymouth Albion Tag Rugby Tournament

    Thu 26 May 2016
Yesterday our team of 9 Year 6s spent the day at Plymouth Albion, taking part in the annual Plymouth Schools Tag Rugby tournament. We played our five pool games and scored a whopping 19 tries, which qualified us in 4th place in the Shield competition. We then entered the knock out rounds where we came up against a very tough High View side, losing narrowly 5-4. The team were brilliant and showed great sportsmanship all day. Well done!
  • F/Year 1 Multi Skills

    Fri 06 May 2016
Yesterday 13 children from Foundation and Year 1 walked across to nearby Plymstock School to take part in an inter school multi skills festival. The children took part in balancing, running, throwing and catching events, and earned stickers based on the Olympic Values. They had a great morning and loved being coached by the Plymstock leaders, some of whom were previous Pomphlett students.
  • RNLI Visit

    Mon 25 Apr 2016
This afternoon we were visited by two lifeguards from the RNLI, who took us through a 45 minute workshop on being safe at the beach this summer. Ivan and Lewis explained what the beach flags meant, what dangers to look out for, what to wear around the water and how to get help if you need it. Some of the pupils even got to make announcements from the Lifeguard van.
  • Devon School Games

    Tue 22 Mar 2016

On Thursday 17th March our team of Year 3/4 girls travelled to Torbay to take part in the Devon School Games. They were treated to an opening ceremony and speech by Zara Dampney, a GB Beach Volleyball Olympian.

They qualified for the Cross Country as they had come in the top 3 at the Plymouth Schools event that was held at Staddiscombe before Christmas. There were around 90 runners taking part from all over Devon. The girls ran brilliantly over the long and muddy course, and finished in a fabulous 9th place overall! What an amazing achievement for them all. We are very proud of you!

After the race they had the opportunity to try out a variety of creative and cultural activities, such as key ring making and drumming. It was a great day.

  • Class and Team Photos

    Tue 15 Mar 2016
So that you are aware, Tempest Photos will be visiting the school on Wednesday 23rd March to do class and team photos.  We will try and remind you before hand so you can send the children in looking even smarter than they do usually!
  • Easter Lunch

There will be a change to the existing menu on Thursday 24th March 2016.  Please see poster under 'School Meals' on the Home Page.  Please be aware there will be NO sandwich options on this day, however, jacket potato with beans will be available.
  • Goosewell Cross Country

    Mon 14 Mar 2016

On Friday our cross country team visited Goosewell School for the final race of the season. For once it was a dry and sunny evening (there had to be one this year!) All of the children performed brilliantly and lots achieved personal best scores to end the season.

Aimee (Y5) ran herself into third place for the final race and picked up third place overall for the season for the Year 5 girls. Leah (Y6) also picked up third place overall for the season for the Year 6 girls.

The team as a whole achieved a fantastic 4th place overall! A brilliant result! Well done to everyone involved and a huge thanks to all of the parents who provided transport and much needed support throughout the season. Thanks also to Mrs Jarvis, Mrs Makelis and Mr Spamer for giving up their time to support the squad and the events themselves.

This morning 12 pupils from across Key Stage 2 visited Plymstock School for a Change 4 Life Festival. The festival was aimed at introducing children to different activities that they might not have experienced before and increasing children's self confidence. They had a brilliant time and everyone wanted to go back and do it again!
