  • PSSP Hockey Festival at Marjons

    Thu 07 Jun 2018
On Thursday 7th June, our Year 6 hockey team took a trip to Marjons to compete in the annual PSSP Festival. The children were superb, playing in 7 games making it all the way to the quarter finals of the competition and only being knocked out through the cruel method of penalties! Well done to the whole team!
  • PSSP Tri Golf

    Fri 25 May 2018
Wow what a day! Our team of Year 3 pupils visited the Plymouth Golf Centre to take part in the Level 2 Tri-Golf competition. With very little prior experience our team went along for the chance to learn a new sport and attend a local Plymstock sporting venue. This was a Plymouth wide competition with 17 teams attending. The children were brilliant, coming in 4th place with over 800 points, within 3 points of 3rd place! This positioning has qualified the team for the Devon Summer Games taking place this June at Brickfields. A HUGE well done to the whole team. We look forward to sharing the results of the June competition with you in the future.
  • Year 6 Bikeability

    Thu 24 May 2018
This week Year 6 have been taking part in Bikeability training with instructors funded by the Plymouth School Sports Partnership. They have had a great week learning how to ride their bikes safely on the road and the majority of the class have successfully passed Level 2 of the course. Well done to Year 6 and a huge thank you to the instructors from PSSP without whom they would not have had such a brilliant opportunity.
  • PSSP SEN Boccia

    Thu 24 May 2018
On Thursday 24th May three of our children visited Tor Bridge to take part in the SEN Boccia Festival. This is a game of accuracy where you have to roll the balls closest to the pin. They had a wonderful time learning about teamwork and meeting pupils from other schools.Thank you to Mrs Whitley and Miss Hele for taking them.
  • PSSP Tag Rugby

    Wed 23 May 2018

On Wednesday 23rd May our team of 9 Year 6 pupils spent the day in the sunshine at Plymouth Albion taking part in the PSSP Tag Rugby Tournament. The team did brilliantly, coming third in our pool games. It was a lovely day sponsored by local rugby club OPMs.

You may also notice our team looking very smart in our new red sports t-shirts. These have been very kindly sponsored by Premier Sport, who work in school every week providing high quality PE to our pupils. Thanks to them for their continued support.

  • Sports Relief Skipping Challenge

    Fri 23 Mar 2018
Friday 23rd March was Sports Relief and Pomphlett joined in the fundraising by taking part in a 10 minute skipping challenge on the school playgrounds. The whole school gave it everything they had and even used their tricks from the Skipping Workshop on Tuesday. Well done to everyone involved who have raised over £200 for a very worthy cause.
  • Goosewell Cross Country

    Fri 23 Mar 2018

After a few weeks of terrible weather and two cross country races cancelled we finally got to the last race of the season at Goosewell School. The team turned out in awful, wet weather to race against the other PAAC schools. Everyone put in all of their effort and almost all of the team improved their positions from the previous races. A huge congratulations go out to Lili-Mai (Y5 Girls 3rd), Evie (Y5 Girls 2nd), Alfie (Y5 Boys 3rd), and Jessie (Y6 Girls 2nd) for earning some fantastic medals in this weeks race. Lili-Mai (3rd), Alfie (3rd) and Jessie (2nd) also received trophies for their places in the cross country league! A superb achievement! Due to the wet weather the results for the school standings weren't announced but we will keep you posted as soon as we know!

A huge thank you goes to Mr Spamer for his fabulous training in Cross Country Club, and to all the parents, friends and family who provided much needed transport to get a team of up to 30 to each race!

    Well done all!

    Mrs Jarvis
