  We had some great entries into our Vue Cinema Competition to advertise Oz - Dorothy's Return. It was a tough job choosing the winners, but everyone that entered was rewarded with a money off voucher for their efforts!

• Sponsored Sports Day!

  Today Pomphlett has gone sports mad with every child taking part in a multi-skills circuit designed by our Year 6 children. This is all in aid of our playground project, where we are raising money to improve our playground facilities. 

  
  The kids have had a great day and have worked very hard for their sponsorship money! Please remember that there is a prize of a family ticket to watch Plymouth Raiders, for the family who raises the most sponsorship.
  
  Please can all funds be returned to school by Friday 6th June so that we can begin our improvements.
  
  Many thanks to Mrs Makelis, Mrs Skuse, Mrs Jones and all of Year 6 for organising and supervising the activities.

  

• MENU CHANGES - SUMMER 2014

  Over the next few weeks there will be some Menu Changes to our Summer 2014 Menu, these will be various days in May, June & July.  The changes have been made by our pupils called the "Children's Choice Menu".

• Hoorah for the Half Marathon!

  After spending the whole of the Spring Term running and running and running, it was finally time for the Schools Challenge. Our team of 23 children ran the 13.1 miles around the school field, with the final mile being run on the Hoe last Sunday. The rain was kind and didn't downpour until we had completed the distance! The team were brilliant, running with just over 1800 other children in the largest event so far. Well done to everyone who took part!

  
  Remember there is still time to sponsor us as we are raising money for the fantastic CLIC Sargent charity.

• CHANGE TO LUNCH MENU - EASTER LUNCH - 3 APRIL

  On Thursday 3rd April, the kitchen will be offering a special Easter lunch with a "Let's Eat Organic" theme! Outdoor reared pork, organic cabbage, organic apples and organic yoghurt will be used to create the following menu:

  
  Roast pork and apple sauce OR Courgette sausage
  -------------
  Roast potatoes, carrots and cabbage
  -------------
  Apple pie and ice cream OR Easter biscuits.

• Super Sunday at Raiders!

  13 children from Pomphlett have been to Plymouth Pavilions to take part in a basketball clinic and to meet the players.  Then watch their afternoon game against Leicester Riders. It was great fun!  

• Hoorah for Hockey!

  Our Year 6 hockey team ventured to Plymstock School to take part in the PAAC hockey festival. They came in fabulous 4th place and thoroughly enjoyed the day. This festival is a warm up for the city wide festival that takes place at Marjons in the Summer Term.

  

• Year 3/4 Multi Skills

  12 of our Year 3 and 4 children have visited Coombe Dean to take part in a net and wall game based multi skills session.

  

• Rocket Man!

  Over the next two days the 'Rocket Man' is visiting Pomphlett to help with our scientific knowledge of how air helps objects to move. Every class is taking part in both a show and workshop. It's brilliant!
