• RUN POMPHLETT RUN!

  On Sunday 28th April, runners from years 5 and 6 joined over 1300 other children from across Plymouth to take part in the annual Plymouth half marathon schools challenge. The children ran 12 miles around the school field in the lead up to race day, with the final 1.1 mile being completed on the Hoe. It was a fantastic spectacle and well supported by family and friends of the runners. Well done to all those who took part!

  

• NEW LUNCH MENU FOR THE SUMMER!

  Well folks, I know it's hard to believe but the Summer Terms are almost upon us! British Summer Time begins this Sunday, 31st March! Anyway, whatever the weather, time marches on and so does the menu offered by the Plymouth School Meals Service. After the Easter holiday, the new menu will be on offer from the Monday 15th April.

• YEAR 4 TUDOR DAY!!

  On Monday 11 February Year 4 took part in a Tudor Day. The children dressed up as a child from the Tudor period and were joined by historian Ian Johnston who brought in many Tudor artefacts to help the children learn more about Tudor life. They also had an opportunity to write with a quill and ink, play a Tudor board game and learn a Tudor Dance! The children enjoyed making pomanders which were used in Tudor times to disguise the rather rotten smells. It was a super day enjoyed by all the children in Year 4.

  

• OFSTED SAYS POMPHLETT IS A “GOOD” SCHOOL!

  We were very pleased today to send home to each family a copy of the official report from our recent Ofsted inspection on 12th and 13th February. It makes very good reading indeed and recognises the improvements we have made as well as the high quality of provision we now have here at Pomphlett. The outcome is the result of a great deal of hard work and de...dication from the school team of staff and governors, the children’s good conduct and effort and the support of parents and carers. In fact, the whole school community can feel proud of their contribution to this judgement. Well done and thank you to everyone! We still have improvements that we can make to get even better and we will be striving hard to achieve this.

• PTA DISCO CANCELLED - FRIDAY 8TH FEB

  We have had to cancel the PTA Valentine’s Disco which was due to take place this evening. This is due to last minute, unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances, which have resulted in senior school staff being unavailable to attend the disco. School events, including discos, cannot take place without a senior member of staff being present for insurance purposes. We apologise for any inconvenience and the disappointment caused. We would only ever take the decision to cancel such a keenly anticipated event if there was no other option, which has been the case on this occasion. All tickets purchased will be refunded by the PTA at the earliest opportunity. Once again, please accept our apologies and we hope you all have a good weekend.
