  • Choir sing at Selkirk Residential Home.

    Fri 14 Dec 2018 S Luscombe
This morning, 53 members of our school choir spread some Christmas joy by singing to the residents of Selkirk House.  They sang both a selection of traditional and modern Christmas themed songs-and they sang like angels! The residents were delighted and all commented on the children's beautiful voices.  The choir were all exceptionally well behaved and they were a real credit to our school.  Well done Pomphlett Choir!
  • PSSP Indoor Athletics

Fri 09 Nov 2018 George, Alfie, Evie and Lili-Mai

On Friday the 9th of November, Pomphlett Primary walked to Plymstock School to take part in the indoor athletics. There were 5 schools there including us. There was a variety of 'mini games' including long jump, speed bounce and triple jump but the main events were the relay races.  Big thanks to Mr Spamer for arranging this event and taking us there.  Everyone had great fun,  thanks to Plymstock students for helping us as sports leaders and providing a sports hall.

  • Parliament Day at Pomphlett

    Thu 08 Nov 2018

Today the children of Pomphlett Primary School have been finding out about the suffragette movement and  how, 100 years ago, women were given the right to vote.  They are wearing the colours associated with the suffragettes, green, white and purple, and they have been busy producing posters around the theme of' 'Deeds not Words'.

All children have also gone to the polls to vote on whether girls should have their own weekly football session....and the vote was YES!  136 children voted YES and 93 voted NO.

  • PSSP Indoor Rowing

    Tue 06 Nov 2018
On Tuesday 6th November our team of 5 boys visited Tor Bridge School to take part in the inclusive rowing event run by Plymouth School Sports Partnership. They had a great morning competing against themselves and pupils from other schools. The event encouraged them to try new sports and meet new friends as they move up through Key Stage 2. Thanks to Miss Hele and Mrs Whitley for taking them to this super event.
  • PSSP Staddiscombe Cross Country

Fri 26 Oct 2018 Lili-Mai Glass, Evelyn Atfield-Biggs, George Carter, Alfie Reilly

On the 18th of October 2018, 25 Pomphlett pupils took part in the Staddiscombe cross country race, which is over 1 mile long. A big well done to everybody who took part in the race but especially the six children who came in the top 20, and also Charlie Wilton did especially well in the Yr 3 and 4 minor boys race and came 1st out of roughly 80 people, but not just by a little bit by at least 80 meters . Lots of our children were nervous to race because they didn't want to slip over because it was a bit wet. The support from Mrs Jarvis and Mr Spamer was brilliant they really made me run that bit faster. At the end of the day Mr Spamer and Mrs Jarvis were proud because every body tried their hardest.

Note from Mrs Jarvis - The team spirit from our pupils during this event was outstanding! The selflessness, consideration and support of others that they showed made us incredibly proud to have them wearing our Pomphlett vests. Well done to everyone involved and a huge thank you to all of the parents who provided transport, support and much needed biscuits!

  • City of Plymouth Gymnastics Day

    Fri 19 Oct 2018
On Friday 19th October, The City of Plymouth Gymnastics Club came to Pomphlett to work with all of Foundation and Year 1. They were looking at the core skills of balance, flexibility, strength and co-ordination. A super time was had by all and some gym stars of the future were discovered! Many thanks to City of Plymouth Gymnastics who provided the sessions free of charge.
  • Year 3/4 Multi Skills

    Tue 16 Oct 2018
This morning, eight of our Year 3/4 pupils ventured over to Coombe Dean School to take part in an inter school multi skills festival. The children took part in lots of different activities, improving their stamina, balance and coordination. They had a super morning being led by sports ambassadors from the secondary schools. Well done to all of the children for representing us so well, and thank you to Mrs Whitley and some of our super parents for transporting them!
  • Coombe Dean Cross County

    Mon 15 Oct 2018
On Thursday 11th October our intrepid cross country team ventured to Coombe Dean for the second race of the season. It had been a wet build up to the race with the route through the woods quite challenging. Our team did brilliantly, many improving on their previous weeks scores! Well done to everyone involved and special mention goes to Charlie for his super win in the Year 3/4 boys race. We are now looking forward to the big race at Staddiscombe later this week.
